Dan Weingarten - Dan is a Los Angeles-based designer who has created lighting for over 300 productions internationally. Including Nijinski Speaks Off-Broadway and the smash hit musical Rock of Ages in Los Angeles.

Awards and Award Nominations include:  Romeo and Juliet dir. Michael Michetti (Boston Court, Ovation Nominee), Inflegrante Gothecto, (LA Drama Critics Circle Award nominee) The Rover (Actors Gang, Garland Award), Great Men of Science (Circle X Theater Company, Garland and LA Weekly Awards, Ovation Nomination), Broadway Bound (Group Repertory Theatre, Drama-Logue Award), Our Country’s Good (Pasadena Shakespeare Company, Drama-Logue Award). 

Numerous productions for the Ensemble Theatre Company in Santa Barbara, including The Real Thing, A Lovely Sunday for Creve Cour, The Last Flapper, Touch The Names.

Dance credits include:  Instincts chor. Liz Imperio, Tapsounds Underground chor. Gregg Russell, With Passion chor. Alex Magno, Bound chor. Michael Mizraney. Dan has also designed lights for Francisco Martinez Dancetheater.  Dan has been the lighting designer for Edge Performing Arts Center and LA Danceforce for over 10 years.

Industrial Clients include: lighting for trade show booths for Line 6, Lighting for Joe’s Jeans at the 2004 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios.

Dan created the lighting design for the 2005 Ovation Awards, 1998 American Choreography Awards and the 1999 LA Weekly Awards.

Served as the consulting lighing designer during the creation of  the Boston Court Performing Arts Complex.

Dan is a member of the faculty of the Department of Theater Arts and Dance at Loyola Marymount University. 

He received his MFA in Lighting Design from California Institute of the Arts (CalArts).
